Help with creating new templates

  Hello,

  I need someone to help explain to me how to make a new template for my blog. I’m using the twenty ten theme. I would like to make a page that has an archive sub-section to it that categorizes my blog posts my month.

  Or just explain how I can access my page.php section… do I need wordpress unlimited?
