Help with CSS

    So I am new to CSS editing on WordPress. I have done some editing for a college class this last spring but I am having some difficulties as I start out using WordPress.

    I have been attempting to edit the CSS of my blog – http://eatshareconnect.com/ but I can’t get any of the changes to take effect unless I click to not use the template CSS which of course takes away everything.

    I want to shorten my blog posts so that the whole post isn’t shown on the main page and the viewer would have to click “read more” to see the rest of the page. Also, I would like to center the SM icons in the widget on my sidebar.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    First thing I would suggest is making sure that the CSS is valid. Yes, it does sound a little strange but you would be surprised as to how one misplaced semicolon/colon can have a huge effect. I’ve experienced it once or twice. :)

    As for reducing the length on the front page you can try using the more tag.

    As for centering the SM icons you can try:

    .textwidget {
        text-align: center;
    }
