help with customerizing a theme in wordpress

  Hello thank you to you all for your comments as i am new its great to be informed.

  I have decided on a new theme its a very simple one but i need some customization. I am looking for someone out there who can answer some questions and show me how to do these my self. either by chat mail message tutorials etc.
  I am looking at changing simple things in the theme and adding a few simple things can anyone help? I am knew and not a designer so I need simple easy to understand help many thanks
