Help with detailed information on WordPress

    I’m doing my senior project in college on building a website. I am using WordPress for this build. I was wondering if you could tell me if there are any compliance policies that WordPress uses as a default for all websites. If so, could you tell me for my report?

    Thank you for your response and the above links.
    Under the Terms of Service for example, in the Domain name, “Your domain is also subject to the policies of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (“ICANN”).”

    This helps me with the report to tell my professor, who wants as many details as possible, what compliance policies must be followed when using WordPress.

    Under the Minimum Age Requirement section, “Our Services are not directed to children. You’re not allowed to access or use our Services if you’re under the age of 13 (or 16 in Europe).” Is there a compliance policy that can be listed or is it a company policy/governance?

    Another example would be like the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) compliance.

    I understand the owner of the site is responsible for the content, I was just wondering if certain compliance laws are part of WordPress data that web site/portal owners cannot override because of compliance regulations.

    I know this is a unique question, just hoping to get pointed in the right direction.

    Anyone who uses WordPress is subject to its GNU license, so I’d recommend learning about it, too:

    Beyond the rules for the code, plenty of laws and regulations apply to any online service. Things like ICANN, GDPR, DMCA, COPPA, etc. Our forums staff is not the legal team and can’t advise there. I can say it’s a broad subject; you’ll want to do research beyond our services as well.
