Help with DNS Original A records
-
Hello,
I recently tried to self host my WordPress blog, and changed the A DNS records, however I would like to change it back to original WordPress DNS. Can anyone help me do this? When trying to self host it didn’t work and the site has been down for three days. I would like to continue the site through WordPress.comThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
I think this support page may help: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/setting-custom-a-records/In particular the part where it says, “Resetting a domain A record”.

Hello,
Thank you for passing that on. I did that, but I just have an NS record and not an A record. And when trying to visit the site it says “server not found”.

Sorry for the double post, actually I now have an A record, NS record and CNAME record that all say handled by wordpress.com, but the site is still not working.
Also, now that they all say handled by wordpress it is no longer affiliated with the self hosting platform I tried to use? -
I can view victimofsound.com, now.
I think when you make DNS changes, it takes a bit of time (from minutes to hours) for everything to sync up and work properly.

Yes, it depends on how the Time To Live settings on the DNS server are set to. It’s not unusual for them to be up to 24 hours, but it can be shorter.
