Help with domain

  Yesterday I registered and paid for a domain, but my blog is still showing up with the .wordpress.com address, not the domain name I registered. I am very new with this, so your help is appreciated!

  @qccorkreporter, your transaction went through, but the domain was never actually registered for some odd reason.

  my name is alan sarrail and i recently purchased a domain through wordpress.com (alansarrail.com)
  i am very excited about the service and building my own website. When i went on to check to make sure that i owned the domain ( through another site ) it said that i was not the registered owner. How do i get that changed??? i would really feel more comfortable if i was the owner of the domain.

  Can anyone help me resolve this proble.

  If needed, i can cancel this account just so that i can buy it again and have it registered in my name.

  Any help to remidy this problem would be greatly appreciated.

  @sarraila – don’t cancel anything –

  It looks like you might have chosen the keep personal details private when you registered the name.

  Did you also do the Domain Mapping? Buying a domain and mapping the domain to your blog are two separate transactions.

  You do own http://alansarrail.com/ but you also purchased private registration.

  By law, the name, mailing address, phone number, and email address of a registered domain owner must be made public.

  Private registration elects a proxy to hold your domain, thus displaying their information rather than yours, which can give the appearance that someone else owns it.
