Help with domain

Hi, thanks for your help yesterday
I own a domain which I had linked to my WP site. I recently changed the domain to my shopify account but wasn’t able to achieve what I wanted from this and now want to move it back to WP. I am not currently on a paid plan and it seems I will now need to spend £95 to get my domain remapped.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to get domain remapped (as it was about 10 days ago) freely?

To move your domain back to WordPress you need an upgraded WordPress.com plan on your site for it to work. See the help documentation on transferring domain you already own: https://wordpress.com/support/move-domain/incoming-domain-transfer/#before-you-begin-the-transfer

Hi Liz yes that’s the one I’m enquiring about. I had patchworklady.com domain associates with that WordPress. I mapped it to my Shopify and now would like to map it back to WP. is that possible? Thanks!

Yes, you can use patchworklady.com on your WordPress.com site.
I can see that the domain is both registered by GoDaddy and also hosted by them.
Are you planning to use it for an online store on WordPress.com?

Hi, Thanks for getting back to me. I am looking into an online store for wordpress site. Currently I just point to my Etsy store but I think it would be worth having my own store too. Thanks for the links, I will look at them.
My main question at the moment is: can I relink patchworklady.com to my wordpress.com site for free? It was linked until about 6 weeks ago when I moved it, and now just want to move back without paying again. Is this possible?

In order to use your custom domain with your WordPress.com site, you will need to have a paid plan:
That will allow you to either map the domain over to your site from your current domain host or to transfer the domain over to WordPress.com and have it registered here alongside your site.

Thanks for the reply. I had my domain linked to my WP site and then remapped it recently. My question is whether I am able to relink to WP for free, as I paid for it to be linked originally and it was linked until an error (mine) recently.Would it be possible to talk to someone about this?

You will need one of our hosting plans in order to connect the domain. Those details are at https://wordpress.com/pricing/
Depending on the ecommerce option you choose will have some impact on which plan is needed. I’d suggest starting with the premium options so you can at least collect payments on single items for sale and get your domain connected.
Once that plan is on your account our live chat support will become available to you. That’s almost instantaneous help with the site versus the back and forth that we have going on here.
