Help with Domain Mapping

  Hey, I have a personal website (https://www.camtag.com/index.htm), which is being hosted by Verio. I would like to keep my domain name ‘www.camtag.com’ (without ‘wordpress’ in the domain name), but want to re-design the website. If I would like to stick with the Personal Plan, and not transfer the registration, is it possible to re-design my existing website? If so, what are the steps?

  The site at Verio would be a completely separate site to one with WordPress.com – so if you’re looking to redesign the site and host with WordPress.com, the steps would be…

  1. Create a site here at WordPress.com, this would be something like example.WordPress.com
  2. Purchase the Personal plan
  3. Design and build the site
  4. When the site is ready, you would then map the domain as per: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
