Help with domain name PLEASE!!!

Ok so I absolutely cannot figure out how to take out the wordpress.com name of my website. I know that I purchased the package or bundle where this is suppose to be done or registered. Can someone please explain and help me in this aspect in “Lame-man’s terminology.” I don’t understand what codex, or any of that means and I need this done asap. I need step by step (click by click instructions. I dont care if you want my password.. I just need this done please. Thank you.

The codex does not apply to any free hosted blog like this one http://loriefangio.wordpress.com/ It applies to WordPress>ORG installs only.
In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from and the domain name your desire must be available for purchase.
If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.

Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

It looks like you have domain mapping for the domain loriefangio.com. From here, you will need to log into the domain registrar where you purchased that domain (GoDaddy), and update your name servers. After that, you can go to your Dashboard and under Store > Domains you can choose loriefangio.com as your primary domain.

OK I sort of understand what you are saying. I just created the site on here however so I am confused. I am not opposed to paying whatever.
Im not sure what the domain registrar is? Godaddy.com? I just used this site to create my site? Please advise.

According to http://who.is/whois/loriefangio.com the domain loriefangio.com was registered via GoDaddy. Assuming this is yours, you will need to update the nameservers to point to WordPress.com.
If that isn’t your domain, you will need to register a different one and follow the process from there. If this is the case, you can follow the whole process on WordPress.com by going to your Dashboard and choosing the menu options Store > Store in the tabs.
