Help with Expound theme

  Hi, I wonder if someone could assist with the Expound theme that I am currently using on my blog.

  I’ve worked out how to use the featured images which shows 1 larger and 4 smaller images, however on another blog I saw, in addition to this, images to the left of each post that was post as well. (as shown here http://hastywords.wordpress.com/).

  How can I get images to display to the left of my regular posts?

  Additionally is there a way to make the grey around the tags in the featured posts more transparent? the grey seems overpowering.
