  Using this theme:
  Black-LetterHead by Ulysses Ronquillo

  I don’t want the search box, or the calendar. It came with the theme.
  No widgets are on .
  Anyway to get rid of those?

  What you are seeing is a sample set of widgets that appear when you have not put widgets in the sidebar. Once you add a single widget, then the others will disappear and you can add which widgets you want to use.

  If you do not want any widgets, you will have to install at least a text widget to get the others to disappear. Do not put a title in the widget, and in the text area on the widget, add one single space. That should make the others disappear. You will have a blank column where the widgets would be.
