Help with featured images in Academica

  Hi there,

  I need to remove the featured image thumbnail from posts in the Blog Page and the Search Results Pages, but not from the Home Page.

  Is there a way to do this with CSS?

  Thanks a lot in advance!

  This should do it for you.

  .blog .posts .post div.thumb {
  display: none;
  }
  
  .search .posts .post div.thumb {
  display: none;
  }

  Dear Sacred, thanks again! It worked beautifully.

  Another question: I guess nobody guess the CSS of every particular theme…. is there a place where all these properties, values, selectors, etc. for each theme can be found? I mean the ones that are not included in the WP.com original CSS.

  Sometimes it is a challenge the trial-error involved and it can even be fun; on the other hand, I know you guys are always there to help… but I’d really like to be able to do this by myself so I bother you guys less and less each time, if you understand what I mean. :-)

  I did the above by looking in the page source code and then just from my long-time experience knew how to target certain pages. If you view the page source, in the opening body tag, you will see a variety of classes. That is where I got “blog” and “search”. I then used those to specifically target those page types. For the most part it is a matter of working with the XHTML (markup) and the CSS side by side and then getting to see and understand the relationship between the two of them.

  I also use the Firebug add-on for Firefox, which makes doing CSS stuff a lot easier.

  I guess to make a long story short, the selectors you see in my code do not exist in the CSS. I pulled the classes together based on my experience to target those page types.

  I understand. So I guess I need to do many more blogs/sites then…. and definitely study some more, I mean STUDY. I’ve studied nothing, just trial and error so far, shame on me. :-) Thank you again SacredPath.

  I’ve JUST discover how the firebug works!!! Eureka!
