Help with getting rid of hover effect..

  Hi experts,
  I’m trying to get rid of the hover effect that occurs when the cursor in hovered on top of post images on my website’s homepage (the image darkens and an initial character in the post appears.. ugh).. There seems to be no option to do it on their customization options.. Does anyone know how to do this?
