Help with Gridspace

Hi, I am having a few problems with the theme Gridspace.
On the homepage I do want to have my latest posts but only from a certain category, or just certain posts. This is because I have an image section and a text section.
It looks messy to have both because the text section appears without an image and I don´t want to add an image to it.
I understand that you can´t have a category as the homepage but is there some solution to this/some way of creating a static page that will show my latest image posts?

Read-access to the premium themes forum is now open to all users so you can search to see if your question has been previously asked and answered there. If you are not successful when searching there is a link for the specific Premium Theme support forum for your theme under Appearance -> Themes in your blog’s Dashboard, but do note that the premium theme must be active and you must be signed in as the user who purchased it in order to see it and post to it.
