    Okay sorry for that, i also make it right as you can see, but one thing which I really don´t know is how to make my logo as in demo, means without border or something like that, just clear…because i dont know how tu erase white backround from my picture…

    Thanks :)

  • Glad you’re getting closer to what you’re after with Harmonic – it’s looking good!

    To make a logo with transparent portions you’ll need to use a graphics program, erase/remove whatever portions you don’t want to include, and save the logo as a transparent PNG.

    Thanks:)

    I will try it.

    Hello tomonagy, how you solved the problem of the blog?

    @wympy78

    Somehow I didi it right, I set my front page as static, or something like that and now it´s exactly as I want.

    To create a static front page see here http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

    You have two choices in any and every blog.
    (1) All posts on the front page.
    (2) A static front page and posts on a different page.

    By default the front page of your blog displays all published posts (not pages) in reverse chronological order, with the most recently published post on top. That is for the convenience of your returning visitors.

    However, if you do not want all the posts to show on the front page, then you can create a static front page called for example “Welcome” for your site and a “Blog” page for posts.

    To do that create two pages first http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/

    After you do that you go to > Settings > Reading and make the designation change and click “save changes”.

    A static page (select below)
    Front page:
    Posts page:

  • wympy78 – I’ll reply in your other thread, which I’ve moved into the Themes forum.

    Firstly I create a new MENU, and called it for example ” THE TITLE” then add a PAGE (TITLE 1) to this menu (you have to create before)- it doesnt matter how you name it, but important thing is, that in page attributes, put this page as FRONT PAGE….

    Afterwords, i create another MENU- and here I put whatever I want…..

    Then in CUSTOMIZE Mode——click on FRONT, then tick STATIC and your FRONT PAGE will be the PAGE(TITLE1), which you create before.Your POST PAGE, will be another one…you creted before. In my case is the BLOG page as my POST PAGE….

    I think that´s it. chceck my page to better imagination. goodthingsk.wordpress.com

    if you have some question, just write ;)

    @tomonagy,

    is it possible to show on post´s page (BLOG. in my case), just a little bit of my post not all.
    Yes, you can display a portion of your post by using a More tag. See the support page, here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/splitting-content/more-tag/.

    From the More Tag support page,

    You can truncate your blog entries so that only the first part of certain posts is displayed on the home and archive pages. When you do this, a link will be placed directly after your excerpt, pointing the reader to the full post.

    All text will be show, when user click on my blog post. ?

    Yes.

I wanted to show categories to my visitors, because, it´s important… I already did just through widget on front page and category are just down, can I make something like “page” with all categories and put into FRONT PAGE?

    Thank you for helping me.

    In the Setting Up Your Front Page section of the The WordPress Themes page on the Harmonic theme, under the subheading “The Sections Explained” you’ll find the following:

    The Front Page Template features five sections:

    Title: Displays your site’s title and tagline. If you opt for a Site Logo, it will be displayed instead of the site title.
    News: Displays your latest posts.
    Page: Displays the page title and content from the Front Page Template.
    Widgets: A special widget area only displayed on the front page.
    Portfolio Front: If you have a portfolio, your most recent projects are displayed here.

    You are presently displaying only three of the five sections because you have no front page widgets, and no portfolio.

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/portfolios/

    You can display your categories with a Categories widget, found in the available widgets at dashboard > Appearance > Widgets. To display it on the front page, drag a categories widget to the front page widgets area on the right. I haven’t figured out how to display sidebar widgets on my test website with the Harmonic theme applied.

    @tomonagy,

    I see the front page Widget section now. Perhaps I missed it last night.

    Is it possible to move them or code them under my NEWS page on the FRONT PAGE

    The News section displays your latest posts. You can’t display your widgets (social sites, categories, etc) there because only the title and the date of a post displays in that section. Perhaps what you would like to do is reorder the sections. That might be possible with CSS coding (See the support pages Custom Design, and Custom CSS), but I don’t have any knowledge about CSS.

    [so] there are 2 option to put category somehow to PAGE or PORTFOLIO, which i don´t need for now.

    Portfolio, no. Page? WordPress widgets can’t be displayed by directly posting them in a post or page, but you can create links, with text or images, that will display in a post or page. I don’t know what kind of code you have for the “socialsites” widget. The WordPress Blog Stats widget can’t be pasted into a page, though you could use another stats service that would allow this.

    Categories is easy. You can just copy the link list displayed in the Widgets area and paste it into your static front page. However, if you place your widgets in a static front page, you’ll just be replacing the Widgets area as the third section with the Pages area. No closer to the top.

    Creating a Custom Menu, or multiple custom menus, is another option. The Harmonic theme supports two menus.

    Correction:

    WordPress widgets can’t be displayed by directly pasting them in a post or page…

    There’s no visible code to copy and paste. Unless you’ve got a custom design upgrade.
