Help with home page

Hi – I’m trying to set my home page, but at the moment it’s got ‘blog’ on the left, then ‘about’ in the middle, then ‘contact’ on the right. I’d like to remove the ‘contact’ section, and I’d really like to have ‘about’ on the left and ‘blog’ in the middle.

Also, I haven’t published any posts yet. Once I publish a post, will that post automatically become the home page? If not, how do I change it?

    Thanks!

OK, I’ve deleted “contact” and swapped the other pages round, which was probably pretty obvious, sorry! But what happens when I actually publish a post? Does that become my home page? If so, how do I change it? And, if I’ve got a static home page, where do the posts appear when someone logs on to the site?

    Thanks!

I think what I really need is just a “sticky” post at the top of the page, to put an introduction and an index on, and then to have the other posts underneath it, as they’d appear if there wasn’t a static home page – is there a way of doing that?
