help with Image resolution for Image File vs. Attachment Page
-
Is it just me or is it true that the resolution from a image file (option in gallery settings) is MUCH better than the image coming from a attachment page??? If so WHY? Is there a way to have the full resolution image on the attachment page vs. image file??
thanks in advance!

When the width of the original is larger (in pixels) than the width of the attachment page, the version on the attachment page will of course be downsized. Images downsized by WP lose some color and sharpness – see here for an example:

If you prefer linking to attachment pages instead of the actual image files, then for best quality you need to downsize the images to the right pixel width in an image editing application before uploading them. -
