-
Hello, when editing my posts, the images on my phone are enlarged. But when I edit them on desktop, the preview looks like. It’s my phone only. :( is it a widget?

Hello! When I preview a post on my desktop/website version, the images look fine. However, on my phone the images are enlarged and way too big. Never had this issue before. For example, this post:
Breakaway Cafe — A Breakfast/Brunch Spot by Brothers Zach & Nick Bayse (Culver City)
It looks fine on desktop, but on the phone, the pictures are enlarged. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello,
A few days ago, whenever I edit a post, it looks fine when I preview it on desktop. But on my phone, the photos are enlarged and weird. This only happens on the phone. I tried seeing the post from another device and the same thing happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I’ve never had this issue before.

Hey there, are you using the classic block? If so, we’re aware of a bug that may be causing this. Please confirm and we’ll add your case to the report, or if you’re not using the classic block, send more details and we’ll go from there. Thanks!

Hey! I think I’m using the new classic block??
I attached a screenshot. Yes, the preview looks fine on desktop but on mobile, the images are stretched and enlarged. :( thank you.

I wanted to attach these two images too.
When I edit (from phone)

When I preview it (phone only)

Never had this issue before.
Thanks again!! :)

hey there, sorry to spam! I was with my server, Bluehost for two hours and nothing was accomplished. It looks like the only way is for me to resize the images for the mobile version, but these look way too small on desktop. :(
-
So after tinkering with it, it looks like the only way for the images to stay the same on mobile and desktop is if the widht and height are set on auto (but some of them are too big for desktop). If I tinker with the px and enlarge it too much on desktop, it’ll look distorted on mobile.

Hi @marianainla123, thanks for your patience.
This does look like a separate issue from what folks with the classic block are seeing. I can’t tell what gallery block you’re using, but you might try out a different gallery/image block to see if that helps.
Your site uses a free copy of WordPress rather than our hosting service, so I can’t take a closer look, but if you need more help, there is another set of forums for the free WordPress software:

is there any way I can locate what type of gallery/image block I’m using for you to see?
-
I asked the same question in the other forum but so far no replies and it’s been 2 days. It’s really frustrating :(
-
@marianainla123 it’s free software, supported entirely by volunteers. If you post replies to yourself, I’d recommend against doing that. Open a new thread then wait; volunteers will usually look for topics that don’t have responses yet.
If you want to try a different gallery block, just type this to see options:
/galleryYou’d also be welcome to migrate your site here if you’d like. Our paid plans include access to direct support.
-
Oh – I also noticed several images on your site aren’t loading at all for me, so you might contact support for your CDN (maybe that’s your host?) to see if they can help.
Good luck whatever you decide!

One more thing, I just noticed you had some other threads open here in this forum. I’ve merged them into this one for you so we’ve got relevant info in one place.
-
Ah! Now I’m the one sending multiple updates.
I noticed another thread here with one of our users having basically the same problem:
https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/images-not-displaying-on-mobile-correctly-look-shrunk/
We’ll likely spot the issue soon. Do you want to click through and follow that thread? I’ll bet the solution will be similar. -
It’s ok. I was tinkering with it and I cleared the cache, which was a bad idea.
Unfortunately, now the images on my website are blank.
I hired a website developer last minute to help me with this issue.
