Help with Importing to Wix

    Hi! I need to import my site to Wix, however I am having trouble doing so and Wix support said to reach out to you as it is plugins or something to do with API blocking me.

    How to I fix it so I don’t get this error?

    Your WordPress API Is blocked
    A plugin or geographical restriction is blocking access to your blog’s WordPress REST API.
    Try disabling some of your plugins, and turning off any geographical restrictions in your WordPress or hosting settings before running your import again.

    Can you tell me the URL of where you’re importing the site to please?

    To check, you wouldn’t necessarily need a plugin to import a site from Wix: https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-wix/

    I’m exporting from WordPress to Wix. I don’t have a Wix URL yet but this is my WordPress URL: abigailkayharris.wordpress.com.

    Wix said to check with WordPress as it says that it may be a plugin causing the API issue.

  • Hi!

    The site you’ve shared doesn’t have any extra plugins, but it is using a very old theme.

    I thought perhaps that could be an issue, so I went ahead and set up a test site so it was configured just as yours is, and added some test posts. Their importer handled that just fine.

    Can you check in with their support to see if there could be any other issues — perhaps issues with certain types of content or the amount of it?

    Also if you’re interested, and if you’re transferring for a particular feature, let us know: perhaps we have something similar here.
