Help with linking my domain to my wordpress website

    Hello,
    I purchased a domain and a wordpress plan through Accu Web Hosting. Now I am not sure how to link the domain I purchased to the website I created on WordPress.

    My wordpress site has the address karistahudelson.wordpress.com, the domain I purchased has the address karistahudelson.com.

    I have gone through your articles about Using Domains and connecting domains I already own, but when I follow your instructions it takes me to my cart with a plan in the cart, but I think I already paid for the plan through Accu Web Hosting. I think I have messed up the accounts somehow.

    On my AccuWeb Hosting Client Area page, I have the WordPress Startup ++ Service for karistahudelson.com address.

    Please help me get this sorted out. Thank you and I look forward to speaking with you soon.

    Hello Karista,

    Thank you for contacting us! While you can connect a domain registered elsewhere to a site hosted at WordPress.com, you would need to add a hosting plan with WordPress.com to do it. AccuWeb is a separate hosting provider so their hosting plans wouldn’t be applicable to a site/content hosted with WordPress.com. This guide helps explain the differences between using WordPress.com and using WordPress at another hosting provider like AccuWeb:

    If you want to work on your site at Accu Web Hosting then you need to log in to that site directly. There is no need to “link” anything. karistahudelson.wordpress.com is a totally different site at a totally different host (ie: here at WordPress.com).
