Help with listing items that I want to sell

  I would like to create a website to show off some items around the house that I want to sell. It would just show photos of the items with description and price, but they would not buy through the site. It would be for local people only and I’d put an ad in the paper with the site address in it so they could see the items before they called me about them.

  Can I do this, and if so can you suggest a theme that would be good for this?

  Did you make the items or not? There is no eCommerce capability on WordPress.com blogs unless they have the $299. per year Business upgrade bundle. If you require any plugins you will need to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set you your own WordPress.org software install to install them.

  Well, I only made one of the items which is a hand crocheted baby set, the other things are just around the house stuff, like some electronics, an old computer, an extra router, old hand-held phone, vacuum cleaner, and things I just don’t need anymore. But, I wasn’t going to try to put up an e-commerce site. It would have been just to show the pics of what I have for sale…then they would contact me by email or phone and then come to my house to buy.

  But, if I understand you correctly, it wouldn’t be allowed. Right?

  Use Craigs List – it is set up to sell stuff like you want to do
