Help with logo in menu

  I’m currently working in Twenty Seventeen.
  Following the “logo-on-menu” topic, (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/logo-on-menu/)
  I was successfully able to place our company logo into the menu bar.
  However, I need to have the logo do two things things:
  1) Contain a link to the home page so that I can remove the “home” button, and,
  2) The logo needs to be to the left of the menu.
  Also, the menu must be vertically aligned to the middle of the logo. I’ve see this on other pages, but I cannot figure out how to do this.
  There was a similar request made by a Marco on July 4th, 2018, (https://en.forums.wordpress.com/search/menu+logo+twenty+seventeen/) which has yet to be addressed.
  Can anyone help?
