Help with mapping domain?
-
So here’s the deal: I spent 4 hours today trying to convert my blog (soundsofthecar.com) to WordPress.org (using 000webhost.com) to no avail. Frustrated, I deleted the 000webhost.com account and decided to just remap the nameservers on GoDaddy and set the domain on the blog back to soundsofthecar.com
However, it’s been an hour and 15 minutes, and still nothing has happened. It just takes me to an error page on 000webhost, even though the nameservers have been set for quite some time.
Can someone help me get this back to normal?

Soundsofthecar.com resolves to your WordPress.COM account fine for me with Soundsofthecar.com being displayed.
It can take up to 72 hours I have read for things to settle down completely since the new information needs to spread to the far corners of the internet.

Thanks for the quick response! Would you mind also letting me know if the forums work? Thanks a bunch!

The forum link went to forums.soundsofthecar.com/ – looked fine to me – told me that posting by strangers in disabled.

PS – I think sometimes your browser cache can do strange things – I had a case last week that my desktop PC went to the old site and my laptop went to the new site – both computers were only 4 feet apart.
If you are real nervous call a friend that has never been to either version and ask them to visit.

Things can be a bit flaky while the name servers settle down and get synchronized. Remember that every time you log onto a site you very well might have a different route to the site and your packets also can take different routes depending on server and switch loads.
