Help with new blog

Hello, I have a wordpress blog that I love. I just purchased a domain name and web hosting, but when I use a new wordpress blog with my new domain name, it doesn’t seem to have the same features as the old one. I can’t put an image on the header, use widgets, or anything cool that I can use on the old wordpress blog. Does anyone have a clue?

Have you read the pink sticky post at the head of the forum entitled “please read me first before posting”? This is the wordpress.com forum. The forum for self hosted and web hosted blogs is over here http://wordpress.org/support.
The two entities run on different code bases consequently there will be different answers given to the questions you pose.
The features that you mention above like “an image on the header, use widgets, or anything cool that I can use on the old wordpress blog” were especially coded for wordpress.com blogs operating on a single multi-user blogging platform and I’m sorry to say that I do not believe they are available on wordpress.org blogs at this point in time.
