Help with New Website

    Hi there,

    I want to build a website on WordPress, and then transfer my domain from Squarespace (where the website is currently) once my work on WP is finished. Is this something I can do? I was looking at the Domain Mapping option but that doesn’t seem to be what I’m looking for.

    I also intend to move hosting from GoDaddyto SiteGround/Cloudfront, so it’s sort of a large, weird project and this is out of my wheelhouse.

    Thanks for any advice that anyone can offer.

    Hello!

    This forum supports sites that use the WordPress.com managed hosting service. GoDaddy and Siteground are other companies that provide web hosting services.

    While you could transfer a domain to a WordPress.com account, it doesn’t make sense to do that unless you are hosting a site on WordPress.com. You can view a feature and cost comparison of all WordPress.com plans at this link:

    If you don’t want to leave the domain on GoDaddy with the site not hosted there, you can transfer the domain to Siteground or move it to any other domain registrar that you like better.
