Help with Pages

I have a page section titled Photographer and another titled Photography BUT the About and Contact from the Photographer also ended up under Photography. I want to have a seperate list under Photography. Can I do that?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can only have one Pages widget for all or some pages. You cannot select which pages go into which widget.

Oh, that’s too bad. I liked the way it was turning out.

    Thank you for your response.

For what you are trying to do, I’ve seen people using the Links/Blogroll widget as a workaround. Use Photographer/Photography as the link category and make a link to your own pages in that “category”.

Okay, I was wondering what else I could use.Thanks.
I just had another issue…I am editing my page Contact and there is no Save anywhere. Odd. If nothing else I will have to save what I wrote and delete and repaste.

Never mind, just realized you have to click on Publish. Ignore me, I come from Blogger where things are VERY different. This is a tad more difficult but much more professional!

    Hello,

I have a question related to this very issue. I took the advice and used a Links widget instead of pages. However, now those same pages are still appearing under the Pages widget that I want to appear exclusively under the Links widget. How do I separate the pages or exclude them from the “pages” widget? What are Page IDs?

You can locate the page ID by going to page > edit and then hovering your mouse over the page title in the list. Look at the bottom status bar on your browser and the number after the equal sign ( = ) is the page ID. You can then exclude it from the pages widget by editing the widget and inserting the ID number in the “exclude” field.

That will however not keep the page from appearing in the top navigation. To do that, you will have to make the specfic page a child of another page by editing the page and in the “attributes” section, set a parent page for the page.
