Help with poetry and spacing
-
Hi
I have already read some of the help articles on poetry and line spacing and have a question about line spacing.
My site contains poetry and the formatting is fine when I preview the poem for desktop or tablet. However, when I preview the poem for a mobile, one of the words in the poem shifts to the next line down. This is on the Wuthering Heights poem.
The line I am having trouble with is:
‘By craggy stones with sunken marsh mouths
Swallowed in years of hollowed anguish’When I publish the poem, the lines read like this on a mobile:
‘By craggy stones with sunken marsh
mouths
Swallowed in years of hollowed anguish’So basically, it is putting the word ‘mouths’ on a separate line, rather than keeping it on the first line.
I have tried to use the pre-formatting code but no success so far. I would be grateful if someone might post some straight forward steps to follow to show how I might sort this. Many thanks.

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
I see what you mean and this is something I can replicate. This isn’t really a case of line spacing, but the number of words appearing in that space.
It’s behaving as it should do so that the text doesn’t run off the screen.
I would recommend changing the text size in the options on the right hand side, to avoid this, but this could make the text unreadable if the text is too small.
I hope this proves useful.
