Help with purchased WordPress Template

Hi,
I’m creating a WordPress site for a university lab, and purchased the Purpose template. But I am having a HUGE amount of difficulty getting the template to operate, and would really appreciate some help. Is there someone who can walk me through how to get it going?

Every theme has a detailed theme description page and this one is at https://wordpress.com/themes/purpose/ That’s where set up instructions for it are found.
