Help with released site name

Hello! I have a personal account, and I also support a separate account for an organization I’m part of. Under my personal account, I released the site name ‘ncowsa.wordpress.com’, from my personal account with the intention of picking it up for the organization – but I can’t pick it up, it says it’s unavailable, but it should be free now. Help!

Hi there,
There is no way to release a free WordPress.com address. If you delete or change a example.wordpress.com address, it is permanently disabled, an no one, including the original owner, can ever use it again. This was explained in the warnings you had to accept in order to complete the site address change.
As you only did this a few hours ago I was still able to restore that address to your account.
If you want a different account to use that address, you can transfer ownership as explained here:
