Help with removing a comments box

  Hi there! I’m a wordpress newbie and need your help :-)

  I’ve chosen the theme Twenty Eleven 1.3 as the theme for my website. I love it apart from the Comments box on every page. I’ve followed the instructions for how to disable comments (I’ve unchecked the box) but it still appears. Is it a part of the theme do you know?

  Any help you could give would be amazing!
