help with removing a widget that was once functionable
-
I have been having trouble uploading photo images on my web pages. I used to use the tiled mosaic widget which worked great for the 10 past years but I have recently discovered when I came to update a new project page the widget was no longer in use or used in the same way so now i have no images on any of my projects. I have been in touch with the online support in the recent past who have been very helpful and have tried to help me solve the problem and sent video tutorials of what to do. However after following the tutorial and was successful to a point in that I could add my images again however they were much smaller than before and didn’t look right on the site and they sit to far over to the right side. I asked a who is a little familiar with WordPress and pointed out that a faint grey line that appears at the top left of every page pages looks like there is a widget still sitting there which is most probably where the previous photo images used sit and maybe why the images that I input sit too far over and look squashed. I would really appreciate if someone could help me with how to remove the widget.
I’ve been through all of the help articles and settings to either disable the plugin, switch the theme, or add code to hide the widget, but your dashboard is missing ‘Appearance > Widgets’ option.
As This is the part we need to remove:
That option isn’t there. That side section that needs to be removed must be a part of the theme, but I can’t find any way of getting to it to remove it.

Hi there,
Have you tried editing the page (of every page that you wish to NOT show a sidebar) so that it uses the “full-width no sidebar” page template? If you edit the page, then look in the right sidebar, you can click on the “default” page template to change it.

This will cause the page (any page you change this setting on) to use the full width template, and a sidebar area will not display. You can then manually create a “sidebar” on the page using the method explained here: https://wordpress.com/forums/topic/help-with-adding-gallery-images/?view=all#post-3912884
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
