help with Sela theme

Ok so I am absolutely completely new to all of this, the only thing I have ever used that is similar to this is Tumblr, so I am completely lost. I just want my blog to look like the Sela demo. I’ve looked at the directions from sela about how to make the front page and I’ve tried everything but I can’t figure it out, could someone please, please help me to make this work?? Maybe even in laymen’s terms so that I can understand it :)

don’t worry, I have the same problem. On my past theme (I have an NBA sport website) I published individual articles as ‘posts’ and not ‘pages’. When I installed themes such as Sela I have no idea how to make the static page showcase my articles, because I can only select a page to showcase my blog posts. I am so confused. I make the Home page and all that, I understand the directions, but then when I have to pick a page to show my latest posts, I can only pick pages, which are blank and have no content on them. All my content I have published was via posts. I don’t know what to do.
