Hi Andrew,
If you have Custom Design, you can adjust the CSS for that text.
h1.site-title { font-size: 20px; } h2.site-description { font-size: 10px; } -
hey daschultemn,
kind of you to respond to my request for help. I sure appreciate it.
My sister is an author and I help her with her site.
That is great. and yes i believe I do have custom design, as I have the ability to add CSS code in the
appearance/theme options/general tab
I’ll see how this goes.

Hey Andrew, on a WordPress.com site that has Custom Design, you can add CSS in the Customizer, in the CSS panel. More about Custom CSS:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/custom-css/
Let us know how it goes.

They actually have a WordPress.ORG install, see this thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/help-changing-size-of-banner-text?replies=8

Thanks, auxclass.
Andrew – the link I referenced is only relevant to WordPress.com sites. Since you’re running WordPress on your own hosting you’ll need to either use a custom CSS plugin or a child theme. If you need further help, you can post over in the WordPress.org forums, as auxclassmentioned in the other thread.

Also, since you’re using a premium theme, the theme shop is probably the best place to ask for help:

kathrynwp,
thanks. I am not the person who originally built the site for my sister.
I think with the purchase of the theme back when, he might have received a login privilege. but I can’t access it – IF it is still valid after 2 years.
So I am having an issue registering on the theme trust site you referenced. I did ask them how to get a user/pass but no response yet.
Would be nice to be able to post in there forum for sure.

The CSS daschultemn gave you earlier should work with any custom CSS plugin or child theme, so you may not even need further support from the theme shop.
Don’t edit the theme files directly, otherwise your changes will be overwritten whenever the theme is updated.
An easy way to add custom CSS is to install the Jetpack plugin and activate the Custom CSS module. You’ll then add your custom CSS in the new stylesheet editor that’ll appear in your dashboard, under Appearance > Edit CSS.
As alternatives, you could either install a standalone custom CSS plugin, or create a child theme.
Good luck!
