Is there anyone here that can go into a private conversation about a stolen website on wordpress.com? I don’t want to publish the domain name.

Here’s what happened: a member of an organization was tasked with building a website for the organization. Put everything in his personal info. Gave no codes to the organization. Organization found out he was diverting funds. Got rid of member. Organization does not have access to website or domain name. Calls me to help. No one in the organization is tech-savvy, so they knew nothing about the process and trusted the member.

I’ve dealt with this many times before, but first time at wordpress.com. Don’t know if there is any remedy to this problem or not. Would love to talk with someone from wordpress.com to see what (if anything) can be done.

WordPress.com’s policy about site ownership is pretty simple: the person/account who registered the site on WordPress.com is the owner of that site. If that person didn’t transfer ownership of the site and related upgrades to someone else, they still own them.

Regardless, I’ve flagged your thread for Staff attention. Best wishes.

I have a website that now shows someone else’s information instead of mine. I still got charged in Dec 2024 and paid but I cannot get onto my website with my email and password. I desperately need assistance and can’t find help for over a month now. How can I possibly get a person to help me.
