Help with stoping copy and paste function from my webite
-
Hi, I’m planning to be a premium member and I have some question that I need answers to
1) As a premium member, do you have absolute control over what ads go on our website. For example if I wanted to use google’s ad sense as opposed to wordpress’ equivalent, can we choose or not?2) I want to prevent visitors from copying my work on wordpress, with a preimum plan can you disable that function?
3) if you can’t do #2, jQuery says it can do that, so can you help with setting it up? for reference, this is the article https://www.codexworld.com/disable-mouse-right-click-cut-copy-paste-using-jquery/
Thank you.

Hi there,
1) As a premium member, do you have absolute control over what ads go on our website. For example if I wanted to use google’s ad sense as opposed to wordpress’ equivalent, can we choose or not?
No, you do not. Sites with the Premium Plan cannot use Google AdSense, you would need to be on the Business Plan to use external advertising providers such as AdSense.
Sites with a custom domain on WordPress.com may be interested in applying for WordAds though, which is an alternative supported on WordPress.com. You’ll need to reach a minimum amount of traffic to be accepted though, unless you have the Premium or Business Plan: https://wordads.co
With WordAds, you cannot control specific adverts which appear though – they are given to the user based of several factors such as browsing history and location.
The control you do have with adverts on the Premium Plan though is to just completely disable them.
2) I want to prevent visitors from copying my work on wordpress, with a preimum plan can you disable that function?
Everything you post online can be copied – this is not exclusive to WordPress.com. Which “function” are you referring to? Disabling right click is not possible on the Premium Plan, and even if it was, such measures can easily be bypassed.
All reputable hosting providers will have measures in place to allow you to takedown or deal with any plagiarised content, but there is no guarantee you’ll be able to prevent content being stolen, whether you use WordPress.com or another service.
Tips on preventing plagiarism can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/prevent-content-theft/
3) if you can’t do #2, jQuery says it can do that, so can you help with setting it up? for reference, this is the article https://www.codexworld.com/disable-mouse-right-click-cut-copy-paste-using-jquery/
You cannot use jQuery on WordPress.com, but even if you could, disabling right click would just frustrate users, and could be easily bypassed by those with malicious intent. It will not help much in preventing stealing of your content.
Let us know if you have any further issues or questions. :)
