Help with Superhero front page image
-
I’m really new to creating a blog, and I’m using the Superhero Theme. The template that is shown is really clean, with the narrative of the actual blog starting below the main image:
http://theme.wordpress.com/themes/superhero/
But my blog narrative is right on top of my image:

How can I make my blog look more like the template?
Thanks so much!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks like you set a background image for the theme. But, the area that you are trying to show is actually the Featured Content Area.
To set up Superhero’s Featured Content area:
- Navigate to Settings → Reading.
- Scroll down to the section labeled “Featured Content”.
- Enter the name of a tag.
- Click the blue “Save Changes” button at the bottom.
- Create a post with a featured image that’s at least 960px wide.
- Note: The featured image will look best at a 2.88:1 width-to-height ratio, and at least 500px tall.
- Give the post the tag you declared under Settings → Reading → Featured Content.
After that is all set up, any post given the tag that you chose will show up in the large Featured Content Area.

Thank you so much! This definitely helps. Although it still doesn’t look quite like the Superhero Template, with the photo being full bleed. Any suggestion for that? If not, I can find contentment with the current situation!

The Superhero Theme demo has its front page set to show recent posts. It looks like you have your front page set to show a static page. The Featured Content Area works based on tags, which you cannot apply to pages. Therefore, it might not be possible to show the Featured Content Area on the homepage with your current setup.
With that said, I’ll do a little digging and see if I can find a workaround.

Metacomcreative is right: the FCA in Superhero shows in the main posts page (your “News” nav link).
And it doesn’t display photos, it displays posts with suitable featured images. If what you’re interested in is a full-bleed image only, you could use Sidecick. Drawback: no sidebar.
(By the way, welcome here metacomcreative: the attitude you got on another thread isn’t typical of all of us.) -
