Help with theme customization

    Hello, i am fairly new to wordpress, i have a previous theme i purchased and installed. but i am working on another theme and i am having difficulty trying to customize to my liking.

    What i am trying to accomplish is, i was to create a post with one main image (300w x 500h) that links to a gallery on a seperate page. and on that gallary page i would like to have a gallery image viewer something like NextGen gallery plugin where the images pop out on the screen and can be viewed in slide show format.

    does anyone have any ideas or helpful tips to help me achieve this?
