Help with theme image before purchase

  I am looking for guidance as I am extremely new (as in today) to WordPress.

  I’d like to purchase the Clear News theme, but have been playing with the preview to make sure I understand what I am doing. I have selected a static page to land on, as my site will serve as more of a website in some ways. In the demo, the home page features a large image which takes up the full screen with no margin. I have played around a bit as best as I know how and do not see how this was accomplished. Since this is the main draw for me, I want to make sure I understand it before purchasing.

  You won’t be able to make any changes to the theme at Customize without purchasing the theme. The preview essentially just provides a peek at what modifications will be possible following purchase. There is not question that you will be allowed to have a full-width feature image on the homepage. The only requirement given in the Clear News theme support page is that it be at least 1024 pixels wide.

  My first sentence above could have been stated better:

  You won’t be able to make any changes to the theme…

  What I mean to say is that you are not allowed to use any of the customize tools (colors, header, menu, front, widgets, site title, theme options) to see previews of modifications, nor save modifications, prior to purchase.

  Also, I meant to say “There is no question…” instead of “not question.”

  Sorry. Another correction is necessary. Perhaps I should think before I type rather than after.

  I should have said that you are allowed to use the customize tools (colors, header, menu, front, widgets, site title, theme options) to preview modifications, but no such modifications can be saved on this theme, or any premium theme I presume, without purchase of the premium plan, or the business plan, each of which include the Custom Design upgrade.

  Anyone can preview the Customize tools for free. If you haven’t purchased WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business yet and you would like to preview the tools, go to Customize via My Sites, click the Custom Design menu link, and click the Try Now button.
