Help with transfering my domain name from mrsitetakeaway website

  Hello everyone

  I’d like to move my website away from mrsite but I’ve never done anything like this before and am feeling very cautious about starting things off.

  Mrsite host my domain name, which I’m happy to keep going with.
  I can see that I need to map my site, but how do I do this? I notice that it says it will cost £11 to do so but when I click through on the link wordpress says it is going to take £85 from me. Does anyone know what this extra charge is for?
  Do I need to tell mrsite of my plans to move away? I’m wondering if I’ll have to get some codes in order for it to happen.

  I have a month to get this sorted, so in the meantime can I build a website here and then transfer my domain name over here and it will automatically be applied to what I have created? I’d rather not find myself without a webpage for a few days.

  Hi @pontevecchiohereford, we’ve recently started requiring plans with domains… that helps us provide more features while keeping free sites totally free.

  But you can go ahead and create the site here, then add the domain and plan when you are ready. Let us know if you need more help with this!
