Help with update to v5

    I just updated to 5.0.3 from 4.9.9. When I did this, my site lost nearly everything besides a youtube video and a paragraph of text. All my headers, sidebar, background, pages, links, tabs, etc are gone from the site. I still see these pages in the editor and it says they are published, but I don’t know how to bring all this back.

    When I try to ‘customize my site’ it takes me to the page with just the paragraph and video, but I can’t do anything else with the entire site. If I try to edit these pages in the dashboard on the menu to the left, it just takes me to a blank page and there’s nothing I can do.

    Hello,

    you are using the self-hosted version of WordPress, not the WordPress.com version.
    You need to contact your hosting company or ask for the help on the WordPress.org forums:
    https://wordpress.org/support/

    Alternatively, you can hire a developer to assist you.

    Before you do any of that, here is a quick tip:
    Install a plugin called Classic Editor and activate it on your WordPress website, it might help with the issue you are describing, but I am not sure since you did not share the website URL and I could not see the actual site.
