Help with Validation
-
Hello,
I am wondering if someone could help me with a validation problem I am having with my blog:
Line 33, Column 175: there is no attribute “sizes”
I’ve already fixed 30 or so errors, but I am stumped by this one. Could someone explain to me how I can fix this error so my blog can be in correct XHMTL 1.0 Transitional?
Thanks.

WordPress.com chose XHTML 1.0 Transitional to communicate our interest in modern standards without the strict adherence to such doctypes required by a more strict doctype such as XHTML 1.0 Strict. we also prefer to serve pages as text/html and not application/xhtml+xml, and XHTML 1.0 Transitional helps us better match that preference
WordPress.com has been paying close attention to emerging browser standards and markup use across the web. The latest default theme in WordPress, Twenty Ten, uses the HTML5 doctype for example. We have recently started adding new markup deemed useful to modern browsers while keeping graceful degradation in place for predictable responses regardless of the viewer. That errror above can’t be fixed I’m afraid.

Errors you find in validation such as missing or malformed tags, should be fixed, and also make sure and add alt tags to all images (search engines won’t index images with out alt tags), but things like “no attribute …” can be safely ignored, especially since, as Hanni mentions, you can’t do anything about them.
