HELP with woocommerce shipping

  We are not finding woocommerce shipping options to be very user friendly so need help understanding what would work best for our shop. How do you figure out if table rate, flat rate etc works. how do you determine shipping box sizes for live shipping. I have looked at tutorials but it all very confusing to me.
