help with Word press site
-
Hi There,
I have a site which was developed on word press by a professional and handed over to me for ongoing support. I am finding it difficult to make visual composer to work on this site for making changes. Can any one help me figure out the reason and possible solution?

Hi there,
Is the site we are talking about, http://navneetkatyal.wordpress.com/ ?
WordPress.com sites come with a select number of preinstalled plugins that are ready to use. Installing additional plugins is not a feature that is available o WordPress.com sites.
The Visual Composer plugin is designed to be installed on a self-hosted site that is running the WordPress.org version of WordPress.

Thanks for your response and the link is helpful.
Actually my website is designed on wordpress.Org http://www.auraskincarelaser.ca/ by the developer and it is transferred to another service provider. The visual composer was installed in 2014 and now when i try to open my pages for editing it tells me that my visual composer is old. It is not allowing me to update to new version.
Thanks again for your help. -
Ok, I see.
You will definitely want to update Visual Composer to the latest version since older versions have known security vulnerabilities.
The best approach would be to get in touch with the Visual Composer plugin authors, likely through the documentation and support channels on their website.
That info should be on the plugin’s details, within the Plugins area of the WordPress admin dashboard.
If Visual Composer came bundled with the theme you are using, then the theme author will need to be contacted for updates
Beyond that, I can suggest posting any other questions over in the https://WordPress.org/support forums
