Help with wordpress

    Hello, I am currently new to wordpress but Im starting to get an idea. Anyway ive been trying to do many things all day and I either end up with new plugins (that I dont know how to use) or simply dont give what im searching for. I have 0 to no experience with code or web design. Im trying to affiliate my tumblr to my website as in shown in some pages. Some good example on what I want to do is on eminem.tumblr.com . its not his actual tumblr and its connected to his website. Id like to do that. then ive been trying to do stuff with my images and backgrounds and I have almost no progress. Im trying to make one of my pages be completely gifed. and it is on the background but when I right something theres a white box in the bottom of the text instead of transparency. Then even if I put an image inside the box its only for where the text line is and not the borders. I tried to put an image on top of another and place images exactly where I want them and I cant seem to find that either. last but not least im trying to crop videos and place them exactly where I want and havent found a way to that.. Its quite a lot of questions but if you can give me an idea or knowledge of a plugin or widget that could help me thank you very much.

    Are you trying build your site on WordPress.com or self-hosting your site (aka WordPress.org site)?
