Help with wrong number of followers being displayed next to the Follow button.

  Chateau theme: Follow button not displaying correct number of followers (It shows “0”). It DID work until about a week ago. Have tried: closing down and reopening blog; removing widget and putting in back in place again; double checked to make sure the “display number of followers” option is checked. I’m at a loss!
  NOT urgent. Thanks!

  I tagged this thread for Staff. Note that the follower counts do take time to update and there’s no need to panic. This happens frequently and Staff will deal with this thread and all the others on the same issue when they can. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

  I initially panicked, because I thought, where did all my followers go! But, I can see in my stats that they’re still with me and I’ve had a few more added since. Like I said, not a rush, or critical issue.

  Hey! I turned off the SNOW and my numbers are back! Maybe that’s the common variable? Let me know if you fix the snow glitch, ‘cuz I do like it!

  It isn’t a glitch from the snow — our team fixed the follow button so it’s working again. You can turn your snow back on if you’d like, and it won’t affect this button. :)

  Wow – what timing! I, computer inept, actually thought I cracked the code! Even though I’ve got 12 inches of the white stuff outside my home, my blog snow is on, carolers–er, followers–are back , and all is right in my WP world. Thank you for the prompt fix! Take care – Colleen

  Also, 12 inches of snow, wow!! I don’t have any snow outside, so I’m really enjoying the snow on all of the WordPress.com blogs. :) I’m glad you’re able to keep yours turned on!
