Iam seeking help and guidance on ways to make the site better than it is at the moment.
I would like to get ideas from other bloggers.

Your site is too crowded with different things which can be cut off from the site without loosing the objective. So, make your site clean. I did not even bother to read any of your posts because it simply isn’t attractive to the eyes.
I’d always give preference to a clean site which soothes the eyes. -
I too believe that your site is too cluttered with page titles that are lengthy and overflowing. Perhaps you could limit the number of pages and use shorter titles for them.
Also the range of categories you are attempting to address in a single blog is huge. Don’t forget that you can have more than one blog and you can use links to connect multiple blogs.
You are also advertising that you will pay people for submitting content, announcements and advertising in your left sidebar.

Lastly IMO your blog sounds very commercial in nature. Ditto — the site just feels too overcrowded.
There are a few simple ways to overcome this:
- Cut down on the number of pages — let the TAGS cover that area.
- Choose a different theme.
- possibly a 2-column theme.
- Create a custom header/banner which reflects your overall topic.
Finally, and I don’t know if many other feel this way, but I prefer a blog that doesn’t utilize the MORE tag. I’d rather read your post than have to click to read the rest.

It has alot of titles because the blog is about “News and events about africa and africans in Norway”. So there’s alot to cover. I say add pictures. But use thumbnails so people with dial-up can access your site better.

I would suggest
-> Inclusive of above noted stuff like cluttered, 2 col theme change, page name length, use some visual thumbnail …-> Change the site meter icon, it does not fit the side bar
-> Arrange ur pages and is possible use sub-pages . U can look at mine to see how it might work for u . There are some themes that display sub pages in a side bar when ur in the one of the main pages. I like Regulas.
-> Initially I tried the same theme as urs , since it offers a really good work area compared to others. But later realized that reading posts are really not that comfortable when it goes beyond certain length [this theme actually allows the posts to flow thru when the screen resolution is high]
-> blog stat / site meter – one would serve the purpose

Go back to my site and see! I have followed most of the advice you folks have given me. I am a good listener. If they is more please continue to guide me. Iam very open for sugestions! I have made sure there are limited pages, few categories and put similar issues into remaining categories. I intend to continue cleaning the site until it looks good for the readers. I owe all of you big thank you. Should you see something more please assist.
I will also work on the advice on using or removing the “more” word in my articles.

Much better.
However, avoid the links in full. Just insert the link but keep only the title of it. If you don’t understand what I mean by this, visit my site and look at the end paragraph of the first post.
please visit ….”free international calls”… section.The link I have is different to the title. This gets rid of the long links and makes it look better to the eyes.
