Hemingway bottombar: impossible to change blocks

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hemingway Theme.
Hemingway Options –> Hemingway bottombar –>

When I Drag and drop the different blocks into their box below, they do not work. The same if I want to transfer a block to another column.

In the same box the following message appears:
“The page requested does not exist

The page you requested does not exist, or you do not have have the necessary privileges to access it. You may return to the dashboard of art and architecture by clicking here.

If you reached this screen by accident and meant to visit one your own sites, here are some shortcuts to help you find your way.”

Any idea why this happens, and what is a solution to this problem?

    thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It sounds like you are not an administrator for art and architecture, or perhaps you have two WordPress.com usernames, both of which are connected to art and architecture, but only one of which is an admin.

Could you verify you are logged in under the right username?

Let me know if that works. If it doesn’t we’ll dig a little deeper.

    thank you for your answer.

I am administrator for this blog.
In two other blogs that I have, I remove -for the moment, the other Administrators, but still it does not work.

I also checked to log in with another email address that I used in the past, but there is no account associated with that email.

Is there another way to check if there is a second username associated with that account?

    Or, anything else to check?
    thank you again

Let’s try another approach. The usual way to move those blocks around (called widgets) is from appearance>widgets on your dashboard. Here’s a little more info on how that works. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/

Does the link above describe the process you were using? If so, let me know how far you get in the process before the error message comes up.

    Hi again and thank you,
it seems that I can create widgets without error messages.
however, I can not find widgets to replace the default hemingway boxes, e.g. “About”.

Hi there, I’m sorry to hear the widget idea didn’t work out as well as I had hoped. I’m afraid I’m not familiar with your theme, and since it’s retired I can’t install it on my test site to see if I can figure something out that way.

The happiness engineers will be able to see the back end of your specific site, so hopefully they will be able to help you figure out what has changed. I’ve marked the thread for staff assistance, so someone on the happiness team will stop by as soon as they can to help.

    I appreciate it, thank you

    Hi there,

I’ve reported this issue with the Hemingway Bottombar to our developers so they can investigate that error message. Thanks for letting us know!

In the meantime, you can overwrite those Bottombar boxes by adding widgets to your site’s footer, as lizthefair mentioned. If you want to remove the Bottombar content without adding other content to your footer, you can add a blank Text Widget to the footer areas.

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that!

Thank you, this solves the problem.
