Hemingway Rewritten – Can't reply to comments

    I originally posted this in the Fixing forum, but it seems this is the more appropriate place for it. I’m using Hemingway Rewritten with my own hosting. I don’t get many comments on my blog, so I was kind of excited to have one to respond to today. Unfortunately, my reply fails every time with the “Nonce verification failed” error. I have no idea what this means, and Google didn’t turn up anything for me. Any help on how to fix this is appreciated.

    Hi there,

    jpopeonjpop.com is a site hosted with TierPoint and uses open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org), whereas this forum deals with sites hosted through WordPress.com.

    They’re very similar, but two separate things.

    It appears as if I’m in a no-win situation. WordPress.org can’t help me because this theme is not listed in the wordpress.org/themes/ directory, and wordpress.com can’t help me because my blog is hosted elsewhere. Looks like I’m going to have to find a new theme, which is unfortunate, as I really like this one.

    Hi there, I’ve flagged this thread for forums Staff attention as indeed Hemingway Rewritten is only available though our Theme Showcase.

    I’m not certain if they can assist with the comments issue you describe, as that sounds like an issue with the WordPress software itself and not the theme, but they can confirm that. Thanks for your patience.

    And @jpopeonjpop, I’m sorry that’s happening to you!

    I agree with @justjennifer about this probably being an issue outside the theme, though I can understand why the helpers on .org blamed the outside theme first.

    Have you tried the healthcheck plugin?

    Health Check & Troubleshooting

    That plugin will allow you to deactivate your other plugins and change to a default theme, all one at a time, until you can isolate which one is causing the problem. And it lets you do that without affecting the site for visitors.

    I’d recommend trying that first. If you do that and the problem goes away when Hemingway Rewritten is activated and no other plugins are, please let us know.

    I will give this a shot! Hopefully I can fix this issue, because after testing a few different themes, I can’t find anything that offers the features I need without compromising the look and feel more than I’d like.
