Hemingway Rewritten – captions left-aligned, same font as body text

    Title says it all really.

I just started getting into blogging again, revamped the site but kept the theme.

As you can see, the captions really don’t cut it. In the editor they show centered and smaller/lighter fonts, which looks great. In the actual post, they don’t, which doesn’t.

    Can anyone help?

I should add that, just to make them look different from body copy, I’m using italics added manually.

  • Hi there,

    This is a known issue:

Image captions added using the block editor does not use the same HTML code as image captions added using the classic editor, which you would have used for your earlier posts. Our older themes don’t have any styling specifying how this newer HTML should be displayed, so it falls back to the default styles specified in your browser itself.

Our developers are aware of this issue, but I cannot tell you if or when this will be fixed – the focus at this point is on creating new themes that are optimised for the block editor, rather than on updating older themes for compatibility.

Please let me know if you have any questions about this.

Even though I paid for the theme? You’d prefer to create new themes rather than make sue existing customers’ themes work?
