Hemingway Rewritten: Change transparancy of black box
-
Hi,
I’m trying to make the black box in the Hemingway rewritten theme more transparent (not completely though) so the header will be visible as well. I tried changing the opacity which unfortunately did not work.
Does anybody know how I can change the transparency of the black box in the header? Thanks in advance!

Hi! Can the box be eliminated completely on the post pages? I just want it on the home page.
Thanks!

@ honeysunbeam:
Can you send me a link to one of your post pages, and describe which box you mean? It should be possible!

Update :)
To include your post archive pages change it to:
.single-post, .archive .site-branding { display: none; } -
To add custom CSS
Select Appearance > Customize > CSS from your Admin Dashboard and enter the custom CSS there.
You need to be on the WordPress.com Premium Plan for custom CSS to save.

Hmmmm… I’m only on the free plan. Just getting started.
Can I change the code each time I make a post to remove the black square?

The CSS code is not added to the post. It must be added in the Admin Dashboard.
You can preview the changes on the free plan but you will need to upgrade to get them to save.

@honeysunbeam, go to Appearance > Customize > CSS, delete all the informational text in that window, and paste in the custom CSS. Let us know if you have any issues or additional questions.
